Shelter

Fauquier County does not currently have a domestic violence shelter for families seeking safe haven from domestic violence. Families in crisis due to domestic violence are forced to leave their community — their schools, churches, and other community support — for safe shelter in surrounding Counties. Shelters for battered women and children currently exist in Culpeper, Manassas, Winchester, and Front Royal. Fauquier County has no safe haven for its victims.   Our family shelter turns away an average of 16 women per year due to their circumstances of domestic violence.

Fauquier Faith Partners has served survivors of abuse since 2007. Our programs provide hope and peace to families suffering from the devastating effects of domestic violence and abuse. Our goal in 2012 is to establish FAITH House, a safe house for victims of abuse that have no where to go for safe haven in their own beloved County of Fauquier. As you can imagine, this is a huge undertaking that will require many thousands of dollars to complete. We have the prospect of a house and are dedicating our 2011 fund raising to pay for the modifications needed to shelter eight women and children.

Fauquier Faith Partners, Inc. depends on contributions and donations like yours to assist in helping the women and children we serve recover from the devastating effects of domestic violence. It takes many hands and hearts to serve the needs of others. By putting your concern into action, you will indeed make a difference in the care we provide.

THANK YOU!

And if you pour out that with which you sustain your own life for the hungry and satisfy the need of the afflicted, then shall your light rise …And you shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not.  Isa 58:10, 11(Amp)

FFP has established a fund with The Fauquier Bank for donations designated specifically for the establishment of a domestic violence shelter within the boundaries of Fauquier County. If you wish to make a donation to support the establishment of this shelter, you may do so by clicking on the "Make a Donation" tab.  Your donation may very well save the lives of a mother and her children in our community.
