…to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit – that they may be called OAKS of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. Isa 61:3 (Amp)
We believe you have the ability to become a lofty, strong and magnificent Oak! Characteristics of an OAK:
They need light and water to thrive: John 8:12; John 4:14
They have beautiful grain markings (not visible on the outside, but the inside).
They go through seasons -- deciduous: deciduous means the dropping of a part that is no longer needed.
Leaf loss coincides with winter.
Many deciduous plants flower during the period when they are leafless. The absence of leaves increases the visibility of the flowers.
As the cycle repeats itself, growing new leaves requires more resources -- nutrients -- than non-decidious trees.
When we experience the winter seasons of our life, we need more of God's Word -- more Understanding of God's Word.
